Crimean resident sentenced to 13 years in prison for treason

A resident of Crimea has been sentenced to 13 years in a strict regime colony in a case of high treason (Art. 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The relevant decision was reported on December 6 by the press service of the Supreme Court of the republic.

It is established that the defendant "assisted another state in activities directed against the security of Russia".

"Also the defendant was established additional punishment in the form of restriction of freedom for 1 year 6 months, after serving the main punishment in the form of imprisonment", - noted in the press service.

The hearing of the case was held in closed mode, as its materials contain information constituting a state secret.

Earlier, on October 25, a woman was arrested in Moscow on the case of state treason. According to the database of Meshchansky court, the criminal case was opened on Konforkina E.I. The court granted the prosecution's motion for her arrest. The details of the case are not disclosed. The defendant faces 12 to 20 years in prison.
