Russian President Vladimir Putin is unlikely to have had time to watch Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson. This was stated by presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov on December 6 when answering Izvestia's question.

Asked whether the Russian leader could have been sent the video material for viewing in advance, Peskov answered in the negative.

"He (Vladimir Putin. - Ed.) has been working until deep into the night all these days," the spokesman said.

Carlson's publication in social network X (former Twitter) with an interview with Sergei Lavrov gained 3.3 million views. The journalist published the video, which lasts about 80 minutes, on December 6 (at 1:48 Moscow time).

During the interview, Lavrov said that discussing a limited nuclear exchange between Russia and the United States is dangerous.

"Professionals in the field of nuclear deterrence policy know very well that this is a very dangerous game. And talking about a limited exchange of nuclear strikes is an invitation to a catastrophe, which we do not want," he emphasized.

In addition, he said that Russia and the United States cooperate through "closed channels" of communication mainly on the topic of exchange of people serving sentences in the states. In addition, Washington through such channels duplicates publicly announced theses on the Ukrainian crisis.
