FAS launches anti-cartel inspections of butter producers

The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has launched anti-cartel inspections of butter producers in six regions of the Russian Federation. This was reported by the agency on December 6.
The service specifies that the inspections were organized due to the fact that citizens made appeals about price increases.
"Unscheduled field inspections are held in respect of seven companies in Moscow, Omsk, Izhevsk, Barnaul, Vologda and Sverdlovsk regions", - stated in the message of the department in Telegram-channel.
It added that the final conclusions will be made based on the results of the inspection and after analyzing all the information received.
On the eve of the Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev said that imported butter will soon appear on the shelves of stores in Russia. Patrushev noted that domestically produced butter is ahead of its imported counterparts in terms of quality. At the same time, the price for it may be slightly higher due to the dollar exchange rate, said Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.
Prior to that, on November 14, Patrushev, inspecting agricultural enterprises of the Leningrad Region in the presence of St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov, said that the demand for dairy products is seriously growing in Russia and one of the topical positions is butter.
