Russian embassy urges Russians in US to be cautious after earthquake


In connection with the earthquake, which occurred off the coast of the state of California, Russian citizens in the United States need to exercise maximum caution. This was reported by the Russian Embassy in Washington on December 6.
"We strongly recommend Russian citizens who are in the United States, as well as those planning to visit the state of California in the near future, to exercise maximum caution and strictly follow the recommendations of the local authorities," - stated in a message in the Telegram-channel.
The diplomatic mission also said that California Governor Gavin Newsom had imposed a state of emergency.
Earlier, on December 5, in the United States announced the threat of a tsunami after the earthquake with a magnitude of 7.0 near the state of California. It was specified that initially the earthquake was magnitude 6.6. At the moment, there was no information about casualties and destruction. The tsunami threat was canceled later that day. The Governor of the state Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency in California.
