A bacterial infection outbreak in Mexico has killed 13 children

In Mexico from a bacterial infection of the bloodstream died 13 children. This was reported on December 5 by the Ministry of Health of the country.

"The Directorate General of Epidemiology reports the detection and care of an outbreak of bloodstream infection <...> associated with possible contamination of parenteral nutrition or its administration products in four health facilities in the state of Mexico. <...> Of the 20 cases, 13 deaths of patients with comorbidities were registered," the Mexican agency said in a statement on its website.

It is specified that all identified patients are children between 0 and 14 years old.

At the same time, seven patients in Mexico City are hospitalized and receive continuous medical care.

Earlier, on December 3, Reuters reported about 143 dead from an unknown disease in the southwestern province of the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is specified that a team of doctors was sent to the zone to conduct analysis to detect the disease. At the same time, the number of infected continues to grow.
