Russian Foreign Minister talks about childish behavior of Europeans at summits

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, in an interview with U.S. journalist Tucker Carlson published on December 6, pointed to the flighty and childish behavior of Europeans when they see a Russian minister at summits.
"It becomes toxic when someone sees an American or a European talking to me. Europeans generally run away when they see me. It was like that during the last G20 summit. Grown men, but they behaved like children. Unbelievable," Lavrov commented on the behavior of European diplomats.
At the same time, the minister admitted that he occasionally sees familiar U.S. citizens at international meetings, some of whom greet him and exchange a few words.
The G20 summit took place on November 18-19 in the capital of Brazil and was dedicated to "building a just world and a sustainable planet." The Russian delegation at the summit was headed by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
Ahead of his participation in the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, the Russian diplomat told reporters that the likelihood of fair peace talks between Russia and Ukraine is minimal, as the Kiev authorities do not represent all the people of the country after the Euromaidan in 2014.
Due to the start of Russia's special operation to defend Donbass on February 24, 2022, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken immediately canceled a meeting with Lavrov scheduled for the same day. Their first meeting after the start of the conflict in Ukraine took place only in March 2023 on the sidelines of the G20 summit in India. According to Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Lavrov had a brief conversation with the US secretary of state and "responded to all the requests" of his US counterpart.
