Lavrov calls Zelensky inadequate for statements about Russian speakers

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, whose powers expired on May 20, is inadequate if after all his statements about the Russian-speaking population he wants to return people of Russian culture under his territorial integrity. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson published on December 6.
"If after everything this man wants to return people of Russian culture under his territorial integrity, which he claims, then I consider him inadequate," the Russian foreign minister said.
Lavrov recalled Zelensky's performances at concerts in Gorlovka and Donetsk in 2014, where he spoke out in defense of the Russian language and talked about the brotherhood of the peoples of Russia and Ukraine. However, the diplomat continued, after Zelensky became president, his position changed dramatically.
The Russian Foreign Minister also recalled the case when in 2021 Zelensky called on all people who feel a connection with Russian culture, "for the sake of the future of their children and grandchildren to go to Russia."
Earlier, on December 3, Duma deputy Mikhail Sheremet, commenting on the Kiev regime leader's insulting remarks about Russia at a press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz the day before, said that Zelensky's words about Russia show the extent of his degradation and boorishness.
The day before, on 2 December, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova called the Ukrainian president a cheapskate who cost the Ukrainian people too much after he insulted Russia.
