Izvestia readers chose the objects for the updated 1,000-ruble bill

Izvestia readers would like to see the Saratov automobile bridge over the Volga River and the monument to Salavat Yulaev on the updated thousand-dollar banknote. These results were obtained by voting in the social networks "VKontakte" and "OK" within the next stage of the project "New Banknotes" (started in 2021 to choose symbols for the modernized banknotes) from November 28 to December 5 inclusive.

"Izvestia" is also conducting a reader poll on social networks from November 28 to December 5

"Izvestia" offered readers to choose one variant from 25 objects of the Volga Federal District (Volga Federal District), which last Thursday the Central Bank presented for popular vote (the regulator is holding a plebiscite from November 29 to December 12).

According to the preliminary results of the Central Bank's vote, the leader is the high-speed motor ship Meteor, which symbolizes Nizhny Novgorod (formerly the city of Gorky). The Salavat Yulaev monument is still in the second place, and the Saratov automobile bridge across the Volga River is in the third place.

Therefore, the objects chosen by Izvestia readers still have a chance to be on the back of the modernized thousand-dollar bill. The popular vote of the Central Bank will last another week, until December 12. Also for the new design, most likely, will need a few attractions of the PFD.

As explained last Thursday Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank Sergei Belov, as a rule, for the reverse side are used three groups of images: the first plan, for which objects should be recognizable and set the theme, the second plan (support the main theme, complement it and create a common background) and the third (micro patterns, microdrawings).
