Writer Alexei Varlamov won the literary award "Big Book", which was held on December 5, for his novel "Odsun". Images of the award ceremony for the winners appeared at the disposal of "Izvestia".

"This is the story of a man who was born in the late 60s, and it reaches 2018. In fact, this is the story of his life, his love, his hopes, his disappointments," Varlamov said.

The writer noted that everything that happens in the book develops against the background of Russian history "with all the peripetias." Also, according to Varlamov, the title of the book is taken from the Czech language.

Second place at the award went to writer Mikhail Shemyakin with his autobiography "My Life: Before Exile." In third place was Zakhar Prilepin and his collection of short stories "Dogs and Other People".

Earlier in the day it became known that the national literary award "Big Book" in the 19th time will announce the winners at a ceremony. The most significant literary award in Russia has been presented since 2006 for the best prose work in the Russian language.
