Private Bugay and a group of attackers captured an AFU stronghold in the SSO zone

Private Vyacheslav Bugai and his group carried out an attack on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) militants despite receiving a shrapnel wound and captured an enemy stronghold. On December 6, the Russian Defense Ministry described the exploits of the Russian military.

After receiving a combat mission to capture a stronghold of Ukrainian militants, a group of attack aircraft under the command of Private Bugay stealthily reached their positions, using the terrain. Before giving the command to assault, the fighter identified the locations of the enemy's defensive firing points and distributed the tasks among his subordinates.

During the battle Private Bugai acted in the most difficult area and received a shrapnel wound. Despite the injury, he continued to lead his unit. A vigorous assault by the Russian Armed Forces forced the Ukrainian fighters to retreat with significant losses.

The Russian Defense Ministry noted the personal courage and bravery of Private Bugay, who was able to take the stronghold and gain a foothold on it. This allowed the Russian troops to continue an active offensive deep into the AFU defense, as well as to liberate a nearby village.

Earlier, on December 5, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Russian Army's Vostok group destroyed two German Leopard tanks. In addition, the units of the Vostok grouping improved the position along the front line, defeated the formations of two mechanized brigades of the AFU and three brigades of tera defense in the areas of the settlements of Razliv, Komar, Dniproenergiya, Novoselka of the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) and Gulyaipole of the Zaporizhzhya region.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
