The threat of a tsunami in the state of California, which was announced after the earthquake with a magnitude of 7.0, has been canceled. This was reported on December 5 by the US National Weather Service(NOAA).

"Tsunami warning canceled in the coastal areas of California and Oregon," - stated in the message.

NOAA had previously declared a tsunami threat in the region. According to meteorologists, it was expected to reach the shores of California at 23:10 Moscow time, but the warning was canceled.

Earlier in the day, the threat of a tsunami was announced in the United States after an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.0 near California. It is specified that initially the earthquake was magnitude 6.6, but then the U.S. Geological Survey raised this figure to 7. At the moment there is no information about casualties and destruction.
