State Duma chairman canceled events due to positive test for coronavirus


Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin has canceled the next official visits due to a positive test for coronavirus. This was reported to journalists in the press service of the parliamentary chamber on December 5.
It was specified that the test result came at the end of last week.
Volodin will not be able to take part in an official visit to India from December 2 to 4, and also has to miss the meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State, which will be held on December 6 in Minsk, the press service said.
"New dates have been agreed upon for early next year," TASS quoted the State Duma press service as saying.
It also specified that Volodin is working in a remote format, on December 5 he took part in a meeting to discuss the preparation of the Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Parliamentary Assembly (CSTO PA) for the 17th meeting to be held on December 9 in Moscow.
Volodin announced the visit to India in an interview on Komsomolskaya Pravda radio back in September. At that time, he said that the Russian Federation had begun discussing problematic issues with its partners in the framework of interparliamentary commissions, which include the heads of specialized committees.
