Chernyshenko announced plans to replace tutoring with free services in Russia

Private tutoring in Russia is to be replaced by free school classes to prepare for the Unified State Examination (USE). This was announced on December 5 by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko during a meeting of the Council for Strategic Development and National Projects.
According to him, the Russian Federation is preparing an education strategy for the period up to 2036 with a perspective up to 2040.
Chernyshenko pointed out that parents of schoolchildren often have to spend money on the paid services of tutors, who are often teachers themselves or leave the profession to become self-employed.
"We plan to replace [tutoring] with free services, improving the quality of pupils' education in order for them to pass the USE without having to engage paid specialists," he said.
The document will be presented in March next year, the deputy prime minister said.
Earlier, on October 30, the State Duma rejected the bill of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) deputies to abolish the mandatory Unified State Examination (USE) for school graduates.
Prior to that, on October 16, Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov said that admission to pedagogical specialties will be through passing a unified state exam in a specialized subject from 2026.
On October 5, Chernyshenko called the teaching profession heroic at a concert in honor of the professional holiday of teachers at the State Kremlin Palace. Also that day, Sergey Kravtsov, head of the Russian Ministry of Education, said that the contribution of teachers to Russia's future was invaluable.
