- Polish Foreign Ministry says Poland ready to execute ICC arrest warrant against Netanyahu

Poland is ready to execute the International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Andrzej Sheina told PAP news agency on December 5.
"Poland respects and will abide by the decisions of the International Criminal Court. The Israeli prime minister knows what to expect. I do not think that in this situation he would like to appear in any country that is a party to the Rome Statute and recognizes the decisions of the ICC," he said.
It is noted that the diplomat expressed the same position at a meeting of the Polish Sejm Committee on Foreign Affairs.
Earlier, November 25, the Financial Times reported that the issuance of an ICC arrest warrant for Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant could lead to a split in the Western world. Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani then called on the G7 countries to take a unified position on the issue.
The ICC issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu and Galant on November 21. According to the institution's assessment, they are responsible for war crimes against civilians. The UK, the Netherlands and Estonia expressed their readiness to comply with the order, while the US and France opposed it.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the ICC's decision to issue an arrest warrant for Netanyahu and Galant would in no way help end the conflict in the Middle East.
The situation in the Middle East escalated on the morning of October 7, when Hamas subjected Israel's territory to a massive rocket attack from the Gaza Strip, as well as invaded the border areas in the south of the country and seized hostages. On the same day, Israel began retaliatory strikes against targets in the Gaza Strip.
