Rosselkhoznadzor supported inspections of finished fish products for helminths

Rosselkhoznadzor supports stricter control over fish products. This includes checks of finished products for the presence of helminths, as well as a ban on the sale of such goods with visible non-living parasites. On the preparation of relevant amendments to the technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union "On the safety of fish and fish products" earlier "Izvestia" was told in the Ministry of Agriculture.
"Rosselkhoznadzor supports the position of the Ministry of Agriculture on the need to tighten measures to prevent the turnover of finished fish products with visible parasites. This year, subordinate laboratories of Rosselkhoznadzor examined more than 9,500 samples of fish and fish products within the framework of parasitological safety," the press service of the agency told Izvestia.
It also noted that in case of detection of non-compliances, information about them is imported into the early warning system - a component of FGIS "VetIS" - "Cyrano" to make a decision on the use of such products and, if necessary, to take measures to prevent them from circulation.
In addition, the facts of detection of pathogens of parasitic diseases of fish are reflected on the interactive map of zones of catch of aquatic biological resources, specified in Rosselkhoznadzor.
Earlier in the day, the Ministry of Agriculture told "Izvestia" that fish products before and after processing will be checked for the presence of larvae. In addition, the authorities plan to establish a ban on the sale of such goods with visible non-living parasites.
