Putin discussed with the Security Council the development of production of dual-use products

Russian President Vladimir Putin on December 5 discussed the development of industries that produce dual-use products with the Russian Security Council.

"Let's talk today about the development of certain industries that produce so-called dual-use products," Putin said.

The Russian president stressed that this issue is important both for the country's economy and for maintaining and improving the country's defense capability.

Earlier in the day, Putin said at a meeting of the Council for Strategic Development and National Projects in the Kremlin that 2025 will be a key year for the technological development of the Russian Federation. The head of state emphasized that it is necessary to achieve global competitiveness of its solutions in this area and to enter the international arena with them. According to him, the current national projects lack such systemic tasks.

On December 1, updated export control rules for dual-use goods will come into effect in the People's Republic of China. The updated list of products also includes IT equipment and components.

China significantly tightened export control rules for the sale of dual-use goods abroad in the summer. They came into force on July 1 of this year. At that time, the list included, for example, certain technologies, software, engines for aviation and astronautics, everything necessary for the production of gas turbines, and some equipment and software for the foundry and metallurgical industries.
