The Consulate General of Slovakia in St. Petersburg will cease operations by 2025

The Consulate General of Slovakia in St. Petersburg will cease its activities by next year. This is reported on December 5 on the website of the diplomatic mission.
It is specified that the Consulate General will stop working by December 31, 2024 because of the decree of the Slovak government.
"Citizens of the Russian Federation can continue to apply for visas, residence permits or certification of signatures, translations, photocopies and copies of documents in the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Moscow", - added representatives of the consulate.
Earlier in the day, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Russia was closing the Polish Consulate General in St. Petersburg in response to the liquidation of the Russian Consulate General in Poznan. Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski in October unsubstantiatedly accused Russian security services of trying to organize sabotage in the country and linked his decision to Russia's alleged "hybrid warfare" against Poland and its allies.
On December 5, Sikorski said that Poland might close the remaining Russian consulates in the country.
