The trainer gave advice on exercising in winter

Akulina Bakhturina, senior trainer of the international network of ballet and stretching studios LEVITA, told Izvestia on December 6 about how to do sports in winter.
According to the expert, in winter you can continue to engage in most of the usual types of physical activity, such as running, classes on tourniquets and in sports vorkout zones, as well as bicycling. To make outdoor lessons enjoyable, all you need to do is update your sports equipment.
"Clothing for winter outdoor sports should be comfortable, enough, but not too warm. It should not restrain movements. It is important that the head is always covered. <...> Pay attention to footwear. It is better to use special winter sneakers, so that they are warm and not slippery, "- notes Bakhturina.
According to her, in addition to traditional summer sports, winter offers new opportunities for seasonal activities. Include skiing (both alpine and cross-country), snowboarding and ice skating in your schedule. Also, children's activities such as ice sledding, plushies, sleigh rides and playing snowballs provide not only a chance to spend time outdoors, but are also great exercise for the body.
The specialist also mentioned that there is a perception that it is harder to lose weight in winter.
"It is believed that in winter, by some magical rule, more sweets and fatty foods appear on our menu. However, nutritionists do not confirm the need for such a "winter" dietary adjustment," said Bakhturina.
The expert recommended to abandon winter stereotypes in nutrition and follow the principles of a healthy diet at any time of the year. You can celebrate the New Year with healthier dishes, for example, replacing the dressing in salads with sour cream or yogurt.
There is another myth about winter workouts - it is a decrease in motivation. In part, this myth has some basis, the expert notes. In cold weather, it is indeed more difficult to decide to leave the house.
"If the weather outside is really too bad, do your planned workout at home. Let it be a simplified version, but any activity is better than its absence. <...> If winter feels like a loss of all motivation, try a new line of sport. Today a huge number of very different activities are available," summarized Bakhturina.
Earlier, on November 29, SberStrakhovanie and Rambler&Co media holding shared with Izvestia a survey of Russians' favorite winter activities. Cross-country skiing is the most popular.
