Russians told about planned spending on New Year gifts

Half of the surveyed Russians (49%) plan to allocate from Br20 to Br50 thousand for gifts for the upcoming New Year, according to the results of the survey "Yandex Market," which were read by "Izvestia" on December 6.

Every fifth respondent (19%) is ready to spend Br50-100 thousand, while every tenth (11%) - more than Br100 thousand. At the same time, 43% of respondents prefer to order gifts on marketplaces. Among other purchase options, respondents chose offline (29%) and online stores (25%).

The experts also found out that during the Black Friday sale - from November 29 to December 1 - shoppers began to order clothes and shoes more often, and the highest demand was for costumes and jewelry. Demand also increased for household goods: the leaders were dishes, serving items, Christmas accessories and bed linen.

At the same time, Russians choose the most expensive gifts for their second halves (45%), children (14%) and friends (12%). The most popular categories for loved ones were perfumes and jewelry (32% each), home decor (24%), as well as clothing, electronics and personal care products (18% each).

In addition, 5% of respondents admitted that they also buy gifts for themselves. Among such purchases are electronics (30%), clothing (19%) and accessories (15%). Russians most often hope to receive money (36%), hobby goods (22%), electronics (20%), event tickets (18%) and accessories (17%) as a gift from their loved ones. However, half of the study participants emphasized that they would prefer not to know in advance what exactly they will be given as a gift.

Earlier, on December 2, it was reported that the association of major manufacturers Rusprodsoyuz calculated the cost of products for the New Year's table. In total, Russians will need at least Br8.1 thousand. This money will be spent on the necessary ingredients for traditional salads - herring under a fur coat and Olivier, as well as for sandwiches with red caviar and butter, chicken meat, cuts of cheese and raw smoked sausage, tangerines, champagne and chocolates.
