The key to Russia's success, including on the front, is the fact that the people of the Russian Federation are one big family. This was stated by the country's President Vladimir Putin on December 5.

"Real help is important, but the substantive side of this endeavor is also important. The aid itself is important, it emphasizes that we are all one big, powerful, united family. And this is the key to all our successes, including on the front," the Russian president said at the international forum of civil participation "We Are Together."

He emphasized that support for the military in the war zone is of particular importance at the moment.

"I know that it is not safe and I bow my head low to the memory of those who gave their lives in the course of this work," Putin said.

He also thanked the volunteers and for their moral support to the military.

"Soon we will have an informal CIS summit, such a traditional, pre-New Year summit. We will definitely talk about this topic too. We will think together about what we need to do additionally to support your work and your efforts," the head of state said.

The International Forum of Civil Participation "We Are Together" started on Volunteer Day on December 5, the event will last until December 7. The forum is held on the site of the Central Exhibition Hall "Manezh" in Moscow.

Earlier in the day, at a session of the Council for Strategic Development and National Projects in the Kremlin, Russian President said that what happens on the battle line will determine the future of Russia for years to come.

On November 28, during a session of the Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in Astana, Putin said that the Russian military, unlike the Ukrainian military, understand perfectly well what they are fighting and shedding blood for. They are fighting for their homeland, the future of the country and their children, he emphasized.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
