Russia cannot allow failures in the work on the creation of an orbital satellite constellation. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday, December 5.

"Space is a separate topic. <...> I am now primarily referring to the constellation for communications and broadcasting," the head of state said at a meeting of the Council for Strategic Development and National Projects.

At the same event, Putin emphasized that the rocket and space industry should retain its status as one of the technological flagships. He added that a specialized national project is being prepared, within which it is necessary to ensure a systematic approach.

In November, Yuri Borisov, head of Roscosmos, noted at a meeting with the president that space currently plays a major role in the Russian economy. According to the head of the state corporation, at the moment the growth rate of the global space industry is much higher than the growth rate of global GDP.

Earlier, on October 13, it was reported that the Cosmonaut Training Center (CTC) has determined the list of cosmonauts to prepare for the first flight to the prospective Russian Orbital Station (ROS). It is specified that the crews will fly to the station on a new-generation manned transport ship.
