Putin instructed to create conditions for turning the demographic situation in Russia around

It is necessary to create conditions for a breakthrough in the demographic situation in Russia in 2025. This was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting of the Council for Strategic Development and National Projects in the Kremlin on December 5.

The head of state noted that the fracture of the demographic situation is a very difficult task, but it is necessary to take measures to change the situation.

"Already next year it is necessary to create conditions for turning the demographic situation around. I realize that this is a very difficult task, and, frankly speaking, due to objective circumstances even, perhaps, not everything depends on us, but it is necessary to do everything that depends on us to further achieve a steady growth of birth rate in our country," he said.

The Russian leader noted that family support should become the most important direction of the government's work in the coming year. He also pointed out the need to address the problems of families with children within the framework of national projects.

Earlier, on September 24, to the head of the Ministry of Finance Anton Siluanov appealed to the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Education Yana Lantratova and the head of the faction "Fair Russia - For Truth" Sergei Mironov with a request to assign in the regions of the Russian Federation with a low birth rate to families with children on 1 million rubles to repay the mortgage. In the document, which is at the disposal of "Izvestia", indicated that the greatest potential for improving the demographic situation have measures aimed at supporting large families with three or more children.

Prior to that, on September 20, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said at a briefing that raising the birth rate is one of Russia's top priorities.
