The Verkhovna Rada says the first step towards mobilization of women

On 5 December, the Ukrainian parliament adopted in the first reading a bill under which women who have undergone basic military training automatically become registered with the military and can be mobilized even if they have not received medical education. This was announced by people's Deputy Dmitry Razumkov in the Ukrainian Parliament.
"I congratulate you, you have made the first step to the mobilization of women," - concluded Razumkov.
It is also emphasized that military service for women even during martial law remains voluntary, and changes to the accounting may affect the indicators of mobilization capacity.
Earlier, on December 3, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a draft law, according to which women who voluntarily underwent basic military training will be put on the military register.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
