About 350 landfills are planned to be reclaimed in Transbaikalia by 2030

The Zabaikalsky Krai intends to eliminate 349 unauthorized landfills included in the relevant register of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia by 2030. Acting head of the regional Ministry of Natural Resources Pavel Volzhin told about it at the meeting of the Committee on Industrial Policy.

"The plans are already in place. In 2025 we will develop design and estimate documentation to continue work on the reclamation of dumps," - said Volzhin, his words are quoted by IA ChitaMedia.

All 349 dumps are planned to be eliminated by 2030 within the framework of the federal project "Clean Country". In total, there are more than 800 unauthorized dumps in the region, they are formed near almost every major population center.

In 2023-2024, three large waste dumps were eliminated in Transbaikalia. These are Nerchinsk, Borzya-1 and Borzya-2.
