There were 275 road accidents in Russia over the past day

Over the past day on the Russian roads there were more than 275 accidents, in which 23 people were killed and 323 injured. This was reported to "Izvestia" on Thursday, December 5, in the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

As a result of 106 road accidents involving pedestrians, five people were killed, another 103 were injured of varying severity. Among the victims are 13 children, eight of whom were injured at crosswalks. Of the total number of accidents involving pedestrians, 62 occurred at crosswalks and 44 outside their zone of action.

Thus, on a regional highway in Karachay-Cherkessia, the driver of a passenger car hit a 63-year-old man who was crossing the roadway in the wrong place, although the unregulated crosswalk was less than 100 m away. As a result of the accident, the pedestrian was injured and was hospitalized.

Eight accidents involving buses were recorded on Russian roads, in which two people were killed and seven injured. The cause of four accidents involving buses was the violation of traffic rules by their drivers. Also on Wednesday there were 12 accidents involving drunk drivers and three more accidents in which drivers refused medical examination. There were no fatalities in such accidents, but 18 people, including one child, were injured.

With the participation of minors 17 accidents were registered, as a result of which there are no dead children, 18 young road users, including five passengers of vehicles, were injured.

"We urge motorists in conditions of snowfall, blizzard, strong wind, ice and limited visibility to reduce speed and increase the distance to the vehicle ahead, as well as to refuse frequent rearrangements, avoid sharp maneuvers and overtaking, strictly comply with the requirements of traffic regulations related to the beginning of movement, rearrangement, turning, turning and stopping. In case of a negative weather forecast, we recommend to refrain from traveling long distances until the road situation improves, and in urban areas to use public transport," - said "Izvestia" deputy head of the department of propaganda of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, police colonel Anton Belan.

November 26, it was reported that the State Duma passed in the first reading of the bill to introduce a fine of up to 5 thousand rubles for repeated driving without a MTPL policy. Now the fine under Part 1 of Article 12.37 of the Administrative Code ("Driving during the period not provided for by the policy, or the transfer of control to a driver not included in the contract") is 500 rubles and 800 - under Part 2 of the same article ("Driving without a valid policy").
