The head of Roscosmos said it was ready to make the Oreshnik rockets even more powerful

"Roscosmos is ready to make Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missiles as powerful as the Russian Defense Ministry requires, the state corporation's CEO Yury Borisov said on December 5.

"As much as the Defense Ministry needs, we will make as many as we need," he told reporters when asked about the possibility of increasing the Oreshnik's power and improving its performance.

Earlier, on December 1, Borisov said that Russia has all the capabilities to provide the Defense Ministry with Oreshnik missiles in the required quantity.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Nov. 21 that in response to the escalation by Western countries in Ukraine, the Oreshnik ballistic missile, one of Russia's newest medium-range missile systems, was tested under combat conditions.

In the following days, the head of state clarified that Russia would continue these tests and that a decision on the serial production of the missiles had already been made. He also revealed that the Oreshnik has 10 separating blocks that attack the target and everything in the epicenter of the explosion turns to dust.
