The Defense Ministry announced the arrival of Russian Navy ships in the Chinese port of Qingdao

A detachment of warships of the Russian Navy arrived in the port of Qingdao of the People's Republic of China on December 5. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

It is specified that the detachment includes corvettes "Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov", "Rezky" and "Gromky", as well as support vessel "Pechenga".

The ships arrived in China as part of the fulfillment of the tasks of the long-range campaign. The visit will last until December 9, the department noted.

"The program of the visit envisages protocol meetings of the command of the Russian Navy warship detachment with representatives of the PLA Navy's naval base command, mutual visits of the ships," the ministry said.

Cultural events will be organized for the crews of the Russian ships, such as sightseeing in Qingdao and sports competitions with Chinese sailors, the Defense Ministry added.

The ministry also emphasized that this visit is another step to strengthen cooperation between the fleets of the two countries.

Earlier, on October 14, ships of the Russian Navy and the Chinese Navy carried out combat exercises with practical firing as part of the anti-submarine and air defense exercise in the Northwest Pacific Ocean, where the Russian-Chinese squadron of ships conducted patrols in the Asia-Pacific region (APR) during the exercise "Beibu/Interaction - 2024".
