Three popular products for long-term investments are named

The most popular products for long-term investment in Russia are federal loan bonds (OFZ), blue chip stocks and real estate funds. This is stated in the study "Attitudes of retail investors to the stock market in 2024", which was conducted by Frank RG together with VTB My Investments.

Experts, in particular, found out that the most important factors for increasing the volume of investments in the stock market, according to respondents, were positive market dynamics (when the yield is higher than the key rate) and more free savings. These answers were given by 32% and 31% of respondents.

At the same time, 16% of respondents are ready to invest in the stock market for a period of more than five years. And with "confidence in the growth of the country's economy" and availability of free funds, 58% of respondents would be ready to invest for these terms. According to the majority of survey participants, in the current market situation the optimal period for investment is 1-3 years.

Also according to the survey, the main source of information about the stock market for respondents were the channels and social networks of financial bloggers.

Andrey Yatskov, Head of Brokerage Services at VTB, said that "the survey revealed several factors, in addition to the obvious growth of indices and increasing savings rates, which would increase investor interest in the stock market and in investing in it". First is the huge demand for transparency and knowledge. "The request to increase the depth of knowledge about complex investment products is as important to respondents (17%) as reducing brokerage commissions," Yatskov clarified. Second is easy access to new products. "As an example: 28% of investors want to understand what CFAs are, 16% are ready to purchase them when accessed from the application," the expert explained. Thirdly, it is the development of technology. "35% of our survey participants believe that robots provide greater profitability, and 21% believe that the chance of a machine's error is less than that of a human," added the head of VTB's brokerage services department.
