Rada MP says Ukrainian Defense Ministry chief preparing to flee the country

The head of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, Rustam Umerov, is preparing to flee the country because of the scandal with the purchase of non-existent weapons. This was reported on December 5 by the Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Alexander Dubinsky.
"In the scandal with the prepayment of UAH 23 billion ($552 million - Ed.) from the Ministry of Defense to a Polish firm laying for non-existent weapons one should not look for deep meaning. It's just that Defense Minister <...>Umerov is preparing to flee," he wrote in his Telegram channel.
According to him, the head of the Ukrainian defense Ministry with the help of his actions could earn $1.5 billion.
Earlier, on December 3, it was reported that in connection with the scandal associated with the supply of low-quality mines to the Ukrainian army, Umerov was summoned to the rainbow.
In November this year, Ukrainian social networks posted videos in which soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) complained about low-quality mines. It was specified that the ammunition got stuck in the gun barrel or "spit out" a couple of dozens of meters when they tried to fire it.
On November 26, MP Oleksiy Honcharenko (included in the Russian Federation in the list of terrorists and extremists) submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a draft resolution on Umerov's resignation.
The Ukrainian daily Strana.ua said on 20 September that Umerov had recently been increasingly criticized by the media and activists close to Western structures.
