Teachers in Berlin went out to protest, Izvestia correspondent reports on December 5.

The rally is taking place on Potsdamer Platz. Employees of the education sector are demanding better working conditions and higher wages. Several hundred people are wearing red vests with trade union symbols, some came with children.

The protesters are holding placards with inscriptions "Working conditions = quality of education", "Strike until summer" and "Who saves on schools, will build prisons". Police officers are on duty at the site.

Earlier, on December 2, Volkswagen employees also went on strike in Germany, due to which the work of nine plants of the automobile concern was suspended. Workers oppose the closure of part of production and reduction of employees. The decision in favor of a large-scale strike was made by the IG Metall trade union, as another round of negotiations with the company's management failed.
