In the wine city "White Cape" in Gelendzhik, which is being created by the group of Joint Stock Bank "RUSSIA", a large wine shop will open in the first half of March 2025, selling more than a thousand types of drink from 150 producers. By the end of the year, "White Cape" will open other outlets in succession.

"White Cape" will spread over an area of 40 thousand square meters, said project manager Dmitry Levitsky.

"It will be an incredible tourist center, which will become a point of attraction for all wine lovers and those who only want to join it. It is a new point on the map with a good atmosphere where you can easily and pleasantly get acquainted with our wine," he said.

In the "Wine City" will open establishments with different concept, which will take into account the peculiarities of drinks, said the partner of the project, restaurateur Georgy Karpenko.

"We wanted people to try the wine bought in the city not from the shelves of stores, but to fully experience it while sitting in the restaurant," he shared.

In addition, in the wine city will open the flagship "White Cape" and cafe "Seagull Screaming", developed by the project manager Dmitry Levitsky together with restaurateur Arkady Novikov.

It is specified that the highlight of the project will be several restaurants that will launch Russian wine brands "Novy Svet", "Massandra", "Inkerman", "Divnomorskoye" and "Krinitsa".

Arsen Karapetyan, General Director of the company "Moye Vino" (manages the brands "Novy Svet", "Massandra", "Inkerman", "Divnomorskoye" and "Krinitsa") expressed hope that not only tourists but also market professionals will come to the city. He also stressed that the project should be all-season and become a center of attraction.

The project is created by the group of Joint Stock Bank "RUSSIA". The area of the complex will be more than 40 thousand square meters, it will include a unique museum dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the tradition of Russian winemaking, restaurants, a wine laboratory, a sommelier school, a movie theater and the largest wine library in Russia.

The architectural concept of the wine city was developed in 2020-2021 by the English archbureau Dyer under the direction of Philip Ball. Later, during the implementation of the project, it was finalized by architectural bureaus from Russia.

Marina Shpilko from Dyer's Moscow office became the project manager for the development of architectural solutions for the White Cape. She has been working in Dyer's international studio for more than 10 years. Her team has vast experience in working with complex international projects, such as Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, the Ludwig Museum in Budapest, the Surf Center in Bristol and others.

Site research is the most important stage of Dyer's work on projects. Experts are helped by detailed study of the area and interaction with its inhabitants to identify its meanings and unique features. This is how the project "White Cape" in Gelendzhik was created, which will harmoniously fit into the existing urban environment, using local elements and natural resources.

Earlier, on November 7, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev said at the plenary session of the Russian Wine Forum that the grape harvest in the Russian Federation at the end of 2024 is forecasted at the level of 800 thousand tons, despite the difficult weather conditions. He also added that 6 thousand hectares of new vineyards are planned to be planted in 2024. Patrushev pointed out that taking into account the cutting and repair of vineyards, the total figure will reach 106-107 thousand hectares.
