The Russian Armed Forces destroyed two AFU Leopard tanks in the NEO zone

The Russian Army's Vostok group has destroyed two German Leopard tanks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the special operation zone. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on December 5.

"The losses of the AFU amounted to up to 210 servicemen, two Leopard tanks manufactured by the FRG, an armored personnel carrier, an armored combat vehicle MaxxPro manufactured by the USA, two vehicles and a 155-millimeter self-propelled artillery installation Caesar manufactured by France", - stated in the message of the department.

In addition, the units of the grouping of troops "Vostok" improved the position along the front line, defeated the formations of two mechanized brigades of the AFU and three brigades of tera defense in the areas of the settlements of Razliv, Komar, Dneproenergiya, Novoselka of the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) and Gulyaipole of the Zaporizhzhya region. Also, according to the Defense Ministry, the Russian army repelled eight counterattacks by enemy assault groups.

It is noted that in total, the Russian military destroyed more than 29,000 units of special military vehicle equipment since the beginning of the SSO.

On the same day, the Grad multiple rocket launcher system (MLRS) of the Center group of troops delivered an artillery strike on the AFU's accumulation of manpower and equipment, supporting the advance of the advancing assault groups in the Red Army direction of the special military operation (SMO). After the Grad MLRS calculation received data on the location of the AFU points, it immediately moved to a combat position.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
