Traffic intensity on Russian roads increased by almost 15% over the year

In recent years, there has been an increase in traffic on the entire road network of state-owned Avtodor, Vyacheslav Petushenko, Chairman of the Board of the state-owned company, told Izvestia in an interview. Thus, if in 2023 the total number of car passes on the entire network amounted to 285 million, in ten months of 2024 alone it is already 327 million.

"As a rule, the intensity of traffic on highways increases in the summer season, and the peak month is considered to be August," said the chairman of Avtodor. - In August this year the average daily traffic intensity on the highway M-4 "Don" increased by 12% compared to August last year, on M-11 "Neva" - by 5%".

On the highway M-4 "Don" the indicators of the average daily traffic intensity at the end of ten months of this year increased by 8% compared to the same period last year.

The new highway M-12 "Vostok" from Moscow to Kazan is also in high demand among motorists. Less than a year has passed since the launch of traffic on this highway, and the number of travels on it has already exceeded 24 million.
