Video conferencing services have become more popular among builders and realtors

Russians have become more active in using video conferencing services. In the fall of 2024, the traffic of thematic applications increased by 78% compared to the same period last year. This follows from the data of a joint study conducted by MegaFon and online communication service Contur.Tolk (available at the editorial office).

According to the results of the study, in terms of traffic volume, Zoom and Skype services are the most popular among Russians. In addition, Yandex services (Yandex Telebridge and Pruffme), SaluteJazz and Contur.Tolk were among the most popular solutions. In terms of the dynamics of transmitted traffic, the leaders were Yandex Telebridge (+73% compared to last fall), Pruffme (+37%), and Contur.Tolk (+32%). At the same time, the average teleconference time in Russia amounted to 31 minutes.

The age of every third user of videoconferencing applications (38%) is between 35 and 44 years old, and a quarter of users are between 25 and 34 years old.

The top five regions in terms of the amount of time spent in online meeting services are expectedly Moscow and the Moscow Region, St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, as well as the Krasnodar Territory, Tatarstan and the Samara Region.

According to the Contur.Tolk service, over the past two years, interest in communication services has grown particularly strongly in the construction and real estate sectors. The leaders in the implementation of online meeting services remain educational institutions (23% of all connections), the IT sector (13%) and consulting companies (8%).

Novosibirsk residents are the earliest in the country to hold video meetings, with the peak of activity occurring at 9:00 a.m. local time. In the Urals, the most popular time for meetings is 11:00, and in Moscow and St. Petersburg, meetings usually begin at 10:00. It is noteworthy that the two capitals often use VCS at night, while in other regions of the country the activity at this time is close to zero.
