A child in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky could have contracted human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) in the maternity hospital. On December 5, the child's mother shared her opinion with Izvestiya.
According to her, the baby was born prematurely, so at first she was with him in the neonatal pathology department. The woman noted that doctors warned her about the presence of HIV-infected children there and urged her to be careful when feeding.
"There was a milk room, a milk kitchen where all the feeding supplies were stored: bottles, nipples, formula. There was also a refrigerator where milk was stored. Mothers could decant milk and store it there. Everything was signed, of course, but I do not know any more facts of stay of sick people," she shared.
