Employees of the Central Postal Customs in St. Petersburg found three bundles of currency prohibited for export in one of the parcels packed in a Santa Claus sack. This was reported by the Federal Customs Service of Russia (FCS) on December 5.
It is specified that the currencies were wrapped in foil, the total amount amounted to €18 thousand. Also in the bag Santa Claus found four pairs of silver earrings, a brooch and blisters with hormonal pills. The sender planned to send the parcel to Riga.
"The goods have been sent for examination. In the actions of the sender there are signs of an offense under part 1 and part 2 of article 16.1 of the CAO RF," - stated in the Telegram-channel of the FCS.
The sender of contraband faces a fine.
Earlier, on November 18, employees of the customs post of the St. Petersburg airport Pulkovo found in a 60-year-old passenger 4 million rubles. The man flew in from Istanbul. He did not declare a large sum in advance, and the inspector showed only an envelope with $10 thousand (999 thousand rubles). However, during the search in the "green" corridor was found more than $34 thousand, €10 and 600 rubles.
