Auto expert names ways to combat windshield icing
One of the most common problems of car owners in winter is a frozen windshield. In case electric heating of the glass is not provided, you can use folk and professional methods to fight frost and ice. This was told by the head of franchising of the international network of car services Fit Service Dmitry Babaev on December 5.
According to the auto expert, one of the methods is "freezing" the interior after the trip to equalize the temperature in the car and on the street. Due to the temperature difference, condensation appears and, as a consequence, frost and ice.
To remove moisture, the specialist advised to apply special means to the glass, such autochemistry can be called "anti-fogging" or "anti-icing". Such a remedy can be made independently from ordinary vinegar (9%) and water, diluting the acid in a ratio of 3:1. After spraying, the glass is thoroughly wiped with a dry cloth. Also for a short time prevent the problem aerosols with a similar action, creating a thin protective film that prevents the appearance of an ice crust.
"Another option is a special cover on the windshield. Today, this accessory is easy to buy, but reviews about it contradictory, that is, from snow on the glass, frosting wipers it will save, but from ice at temperature fluctuations is unlikely," - notes Babaev in conversation with "Rossiyskaya gazeta".
The day before, auto expert Yulia Trushkova said that despite the good protection of the body of a modern car from corrosion by galvanizing, it does not always save from the volume of contact with aggressive external irritant-reagent. For additional protection of the car it is necessary to carry out several procedures, she advised.
