The Ministry of Education and Science has changed the procedure for admission to universities from March 2025

The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation has approved a new procedure for admission to universities. The corresponding document was published on the website of the official publication of legal acts.

Thus, the document establishes uniform deadlines for the acceptance of documents, the publication of competitive lists and enrollment orders at different stages. Priority admission to budgetary places on bachelor's and specialization should be completed no later than August 2-3, the main stage of admission - August 6-7, additional - August 10-11, and admission to paid places - September 30.

"At admission to study for places within the control figures of admission to graduate programs in all forms of education admission of applications and documents: the beginning -- June 20 of the year of admission, <...> completion of enrollment - August 29 of the year of admission", - stated in the document.

It is noted that the additional admission to the master's degree should end no later than September 20, and students of paid form of education should be enrolled before the end of September.

The order comes into force from March 1, 2025 and is valid until September 1, 2029.

Earlier, October 16, Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov said that admission to pedagogical specialties will be held through a unified state examination in a specialized subject from 2026. The minister also noted that no significant changes in the system of admission to higher education institutions are planned in 2025.
