The potential of integration processes in the Eurasian space, taking into account the national interests, built on trust, respect and long-term sustainability, is enormous. Igor Sechin, Chairman of the XVII Verona Eurasian Economic Forum and Chief Executive Officer of Rosneft, said from the rostrum of the XVII Verona Eurasian Economic Forum.

"I am convinced that the potential of our cooperation is enormous, and we are only at the beginning of its realization," Igor Sechin noted and quoted the first President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan: "Unity is the path to strength, honor, invulnerability and common good."

In his report "Farewell to Illusions. World Energy in Thucydides' Trap," Sechin also pointed out that it was Russia, together with its partners, that had made the greatest contribution to stabilizing the global energy market, often sacrificing its own strategic interests.

Sechin called the policy of pushing Russia out of the energy market deeply flawed. According to him, it inevitably leads to the collapse of the global economic system.

"The aggregate value of Russia's natural wealth is $100 trillion dollars, i.e. twice as much as that of the United States, which imposes a huge responsibility on our country and ensures the reliability of supplies to foreign partners in the long term," he emphasized.

The Rosneft head also debunked myths about globalization, pointing out that he noted that over the past 45 years the redistribution of wealth of developing countries in favor of developed countries amounted to $16 trillion, a vivid example of which was the so-called "structural reforms" being carried out in Ukraine under the auspices of the IMF and the World Bank.

"Ukrainian agribusinesses owe billions of dollars to U.S. and European financial institutions. The level of their debt is so high that in case of default their assets are likely to fall into the hands of creditors," he summarized.
