In January-October 2024, the federal budget received Br10.4 trillion from the mineral extraction tax (MET). This is 38.5% more than in the same period last year, follows from the data of the analytical portal of the Federal Tax Service (FTS), which Izvestia studied on December 5.

"The increase in revenues is mainly due to a 17% increase in the oil price in December 2023-September 2024, an 11.5% increase in the dollar exchange rate against last year, as well as changes in legislation in terms of an increase in the tax rate on oil and gas condensate," the tax service explains on its website.

Receipts from other fees have also increased. VAT - by 22.1%, income tax - by 19.7%, excise taxes - by 62.1%. Receipts of other taxes and fees increased by 43.7%, follows from the data on the portal.

Earlier in the day it was reported that for 10 months of 2024, the federal budget received 146 billion rubles from the so-called tax on the rich. The levy at a rate of 15% is paid by those who earn more than 5 million rubles a year. The total revenues of the federal treasury from personal income tax increased one and a half times, up to 186 billion rubles.

Prior to that, November 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with the head of the Federal Tax Service (FTS) Daniil Egorov noted that tax revenues in the budget system of Russia for the first 10 months of this year amounted to almost Br46 trillion. The figure is about 20% higher than in the same period of 2023.
