- Peskov reported on Putin's plans to take part in the "Christmas Tree of Wishes" event

This year, Russian President Vladimir Putin intends to take part in the All-Russian New Year's event "Christmas Tree of Wishes," according to tradition. This was announced by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on December 5.
"Yes, he plans to," the presidential spokesman told TASS.
Last year, on December 4, the Russian leader, during a visit to the Russia exhibition and forum at the VDNKh, removed three balls from the wish tree with the wishes of children, which he himself fulfilled. The lucky ones were two girls and a boy. The children live in St. Petersburg and the Kostroma region. One of the girls dreamed of visiting Lake Baikal, the second girl dreamed of trying her hand at being a news anchor. A boy expressed his wish to visit the Hermitage Museum. All of them were fulfilled.
The "Wish Tree" charity event is a project of the Russian "Movement of the First" with the support of Rosmolodezh, which has been taking place since 2018 and lasts from mid-November to the end of February. Thanks to the campaign, children aged 3-17 who find themselves in a difficult life situation get the opportunity to fulfill a cherished wish or receive a gift for the New Year. In 2023, the Wishing Tree started on November 15 and will run until February 28, 2024.
