Sechin said the U.S. is losing its leadership in industry and science

TheUnited States has lost its leadership in science, industry and finance, and has failed to ensure the maintenance of a just world order. By unleashing various conflicts, the United States is trying to create special conditions for its economy at the expense of other market participants. Rosneft head Igor Sechin said at the Verona Eurasian Economic Forum in Ras al-Khaimah (UAE) on December 5.
"It is obvious that America has allowed the loss of leadership in scientific-technological, industrial and financial spheres, which was hard to imagine 20-30 years ago," he said.
This has led, he said, to a decline in U.S. dominance in the economy and trade.
"The previously unconditional influence of the US on political processes in the world is eroding. As a result, today, taking advantage of its status of the world hegemon, the US is placing its main bet on creating special conditions for its economy at the expense of other market participants, including its allies. We see the consequences of this US policy both in Europe and in developing countries," Sechin said.
Losing influence, the U.S. is placing its main bet on creating special conditions for its economy at the expense of other market participants, including its allies, the Rosneft head added.
"Conflicts in the Near and Middle East, Ukraine, Latin America and the Asia-Pacific region are deliberately aggravated and created," he emphasized.
Earlier, on October 9, Freedom Finance Global analyst Vladimir Chernov told Izvestia that a decline in the US share in the global economy could mean the country's reduced influence on global economic processes and pricing on commodity markets.
Before that, on September 20, Arthur Meinhard, head of the analytical department for global markets at Fontvielle investment company, called the growing U.S. government debt the main problem of the U.S. economy.
