- Media learned about the resignation of Colombia's finance minister amid corruption scandal

The head of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit of Colombia Ricardo Bonilla resigned amid a corruption scandal. This was reported by the newspaper El Colombiano on December 4.
It is reported that the position will be taken by Deputy Minister Diego Alejandro Guevara.
"President Gustavo Petro confirmed this Wednesday that Diego Guevara will become the new Minister of Finance after the departure of Ricardo Bonilla, who resigned after being implicated in the corruption scandal of the National Disaster Risk Management Unit," - stated in the material of the publication.
According to El Colombiano, Guevara served as Colombia's vice minister of finance. He is a university professor, has a doctorate in economics, a master's degree in economics and an engineering degree from the National University of Colombia.
Earlier in the day, French Prime Minister Michel Barnier said he would tender his resignation. It is noted that 331 deputies voted against the Prime Minister, far exceeding the required 289 votes that would have allowed to demand the termination of the Barnier government.
