Molniya-2 UAV units destroyed AFU equipment and fighters in the Kursk border area

Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) calculations of the Molniya-2 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the "North" group of troops have hit military facilities, armored and automotive equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the border area of Kursk Region. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on December 5.
According to the ministry, in the course of destroying small mobile groups of the enemy in the border area of Kursk Region, servicemen of the "North" group of troops use various combat UAVs - from conventional FPV drones to airplane-type kamikazes - on a daily basis. For example, one of the units has the first version of Molniya and its improved version Molniya-2. The servicemen change their basing point each new launch, which allows them to remain undetected by the enemy.
"We work hard, the enemy flies everywhere. The guys are doing their best here, they are working hard, but it's still hard, but we are moving forward," said the UAV platoon commander with the call sign Hulk.
At the same time, the UAV "Molniya-2" successfully hit military equipment and places of accumulation of the AFU's manpower. The drone of this model can be compared to the Lancet barrage munition. Such drones fly much farther than ordinary FPV drones and carry a much heavier charge. The agency also noted that Molniya-2 is more affordable and easier to operate than the Lancet, with the UAV capable of carrying up to 6 kilograms of explosives.
In addition, the Molniya-2 UAV is equipped with a catapult. The compressor creates pressure, and the system literally blows the drone into flight with a sharp pressure of air. The "Molniya" is controlled with a remote control and special glasses, just like controlling an FPV drone.
Earlier, on December 4, the Russian military destroyed a car with a gun and an AFU tank with a strike using a Lancet barrage munition in the border area of Kursk Region.
The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. The operation to destroy the militants continues.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
