Deputy Mayor Sergunina spoke about support for NGOs in Moscow

Since the beginning of the year, the winners of the previous Moscow Mayor's grant competition for socially oriented non-profit organizations (NPOs) of the capital have implemented more than 240 initiatives. This was reported by Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina.

Among the projects realized with the support of the city are "patriotic and local history campaigns, a series of meetings of entrepreneurs with students of leading universities, exhibitions of animals from shelters and much more", said the Deputy Mayor.

In particular, the center of development and leisure for the whole family "Talent Workshop" held in educational institutions a series of thematic quizzes "I am proud of you, Moscow". The questions were devoted to the history, culture and geography of the capital city, as well as famous scientists, writers, architects, artists and musicians of Moscow.

Another grant recipient was the Scientific and Educational Center of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University with a training intensive "Family Moscow". During the engineering classes, participants learned the basics of 3D modeling and familiarized themselves with working on a laser machine.

In addition, the youth project "Mentoring and Entrepreneurship 2.0" was implemented with funds provided by the city. It included a series of meetings with managers and owners of successful companies, journalists and designers. Those who wished to do so were able to undergo internships at large enterprises, legislative and executive authorities.

The Moscow Mayor's grant competition has been held since 2002. During this time the city has supported more than 3.6 thousand socially significant initiatives. Experts select proposals in 12 nominations, including "Our heritage", "Ecology of megapolis", "Volunteerism and volunteering". The city allocates from 500 thousand to 5 million rubles to the winners.
