- Foreign Ministry warns of Russia's response to provocations by outgoing US administration

Russia is ready to respond to the provocations of the outgoing administration of US President Joe Biden. This was stated by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov on December 4.
"My message to the outgoing administration is very clear: we will respond if they provoke. We will find our way forward in how to defend our will and our interests," he said in an interview with CNN.
At the same time, Ryabkov emphasized that his statements were not threats. In his opinion, Western countries underestimate Russia's determination to defend its interests and national security, because of which Russia may be forced to resort to the use of even more powerful weapons in Ukraine.
"There will come a moment when we will have no choice but to resort to even more powerful military means," he added.
Earlier in the day, Ryabkov said that Russia was ready to consider Trump's proposals on Ukraine. The diplomat specified that at the moment Moscow had no direct contacts with US President-elect Donald Trump about his comments on ending the Ukrainian conflict in 24 hours.
Ryabkov also said there was a threat of a nuclear exchange between the US and Russia. According to him, Moscow will do everything possible to avoid this.
Before that, on November 10, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the outgoing administration of U.S. President Joe Biden could "muck up" Russia within a couple of remaining months.
On November 7, Alexander Yakovenko, deputy director-general of the Rossiya Segodnya media group and a member of the Scientific Council of the Russian Security Council, said that Biden's drastic actions and decisions before the end of his term could aggravate the conflict in Ukraine and relations with Russia.
The election for the 47th president of the United States took place on November 5. In the popular vote, Trump received 51% of the vote, while Democratic candidate Kamala Harris received 47.4%. Speaking to supporters, the Republican candidate said that his goal as head of state is to end military conflicts in the world.
