Soyuz-2.1b rocket launches military satellite into orbit


The Soyuz-2.1b carrier rocket launched from the Plesetsk cosmodrome has put into orbit a military satellite that will work in the interests of the Russian Defense Ministry. This was reported in the department on December 4.
"The launch of the carrier rocket and placing the spacecraft into the estimated orbit went normally. After the launch, the medium-class Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle was escorted by means of the ground-based automated control complex of the Main Test Space Center named after German Titov," the Defense Ministry said.
It is specified that communication with the satellite was established, it is maintained in a stable order. Onboard systems of the spacecraft are functioning in normal mode.
Earlier in the day, the Soyuz-2.1b rocket was successfully launched from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome. The launch was made on December 4 at 20:59 (Moscow time).
Before that, on October 31, the Russian Air and Space Forces launched a Soyuz-2.1a rocket with a military satellite from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome. It was noted that this launch was carried out in the interests of the Ministry of Defense.
