Russian Sosulin wins WBA Asian championship belt

Russian Pavel Sosulin, the 2022 Russian amateur champion, has won the World Boxing Association (WBA) Asia champion belt in the 72.6 kg weight category.

The Russian athlete defeated Tanzania's Abudula Ubaya by technical knockout in the main event of the "Betsity. Evening of professional boxing" in St. Petersburg.

Sosulin's victory was predetermined in the fourth round of the fight. His opponent refused to continue the fight due to injury.

Thanks to the won tournament, the Russian boxer will be able to participate on a more serious stage.
