Moscow plans to launch a river tramway plant in 2025

In Moscow they plan to produce river streetcars with electric running. This was announced on December 4 by the mayor of the capital Sergey Sobyanin on air of TV channel Moscow 24.

"We are completing a whole plant for the production of water streetcars, next year, I hope that we will launch it and will build streetcars already in Moscow," - said the mayor.

Sobyanin also added that new routes of river streetcars will be opened in Moscow every year. According to him, river streetcars are gaining popularity not only as transportation, but also as a tourist attraction.

Earlier, on May 23, Sobyanin opened the Center for the Development of Electric Transport and Unmanned Technologies, which brings together "all developers of innovations for the capital's transport." According to Sobyanin's assessment, Moscow transportation is currently the undisputed leader "in terms of innovative solutions".
