The deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitriy Medvedev, has said that the administration of US President Joe Biden is indifferent to the deaths of 18-year-old Ukrainians. He published a corresponding post on December 4 in the social network X (former Twitter).

This is how Medvedev reacted to US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken's call for Ukraine to lower the draft age.

"He (Blinken. - Ed.) demands Ukraine to lower the draft age in order to continue to receive "help from the US". This means that now there will be eighteen-year-olds dying, but the Biden administration doesn't care about that," he wrote.

Earlier in the day, Blinken said that to win the conflict, Kiev needs to announce the mobilization of 18-year-old Ukrainians. He noted that the decision on how to mobilize young people should be made independently by the Kiev authorities. At the same time, he added that Ukraine's allies would provide the necessary training to the fighters.

Also on Wednesday, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said after the second day of the NATO foreign ministers' meeting that the proposal to lower the mobilization age in Ukraine was dangerous and could lead to escalation. According to him, it contributes to prolonging the conflict and increasing the risk of escalation.

Ukraine has been under martial law since February 2022. Then President Volodymyr Zelensky (term expired in May) signed a decree on general mobilization, its effect has been repeatedly extended. Most men between the ages of 18 and 60 are forbidden to leave the country. In April 2024, the head of the Kiev regime approved the law on tougher mobilization.
